Overview

Our client, an established bank, is looking to recruit a Financial Crime and Transaction Monitoring Officer in their London office with hybrid working. The officer will be part of the team responsible for carrying out financial crime monitoring across the Banking Division. The role involves travel throughout the UK, Channel Islands, Republic of Ireland and Germany.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with preparation of the annual risk-based financial crime monitoring programme for the Banking Division
  • Undertaking appropriate preparatory work ahead of on-site visits
  • Taking the lead in carrying out monitoring reviews
  • Producing high quality monitoring reports in a timely manner
  • Presenting report findings to divisional senior management
  • Partnering with Compliance Monitoring and Risk Assurance and other second line colleagues to deliver an integrated effective assurance programme
  • Reviewing and critically appraising evidence presented in support of proposed issue closure
  • Assisting the Financial Crime Manager in the production of monthly MI
  • Assisting with internal investigations, as required

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Educated to degree level
  • Professional qualification in compliance or law
  • Experience of delivering financial crime reviews as part of a second or third line assurance team
  • Knowledge of PRA and FCA rules, especially Consumer Credit and Conduct of Business regulations relevant to Banking
  • Knowledge of the Money Laundering Regulations, Bribery Act requirements and other financial crime matters
  • Excellent written and verbal communicator
  • High degree of analytical proficiency, working with large volumes of data from various divisional IT systems
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Expert level of skill with Microsoft office tools, including Excel and Word
  • Understanding of Irish, German and Channel Islands rules and regulations is desirable
